Daddy audiobombs with work-out banter and Suki has been saying Rico’s name constantly. Constantly. She’s so jealous of him..have no idea why she keeps saying it.

Not sure who the guilty pea is, though Kenneth always looks like he’s up to something. I found one toggle band on the ground yesterday (they hold the roof tarps in place). Today there were 4 on the ground in the pen. Somepea is making a game of it! These guys are not like chickens at all! They kinda remind me of the velociraptors in Jurassic park.

The Bachelor Pad:
Balmy 66F and drizzly today. Trigger and Joanie (frizzle bachelors) have flat “hair” on days like this.

Hubby doing a SE Texas pipe winterizing as temps will drop to 27F low on Sunday/Monday. Can’t complain as others on BYC are dealing minus 20 or worse up North!

One of the fun parts of winter extreme freeze weekends is chihuahua sweater time!

Unfortunately, getting Pancho to pose in his awesome-sauce sweater is like herding a pride of rabid barn cats. Does not cooperate.

With temps dipping here down to 27F tonight, my bald frizzle hens will certainly suffer. It was rainy and in the 30’s this morning so we went ahead and prepped their garage enclosure (with a space heater). They never had to be garaged for temps like this, but last year they were fully feathered when it froze.

So many pics today! And some days I struggle for even one. Today is the FIRST time I have seen visitors to my wild bird feeder. A mated pair of beautiful cardinals:

And finally: Charlotte. Probably a male (no DNA test done yet, but name isn’t changing). Charlotte is horrible. Extremely cage aggressive and violent. When first adopted, was sweet and would step-up. However, once bonded to our other DNA male-sexed rescue Quaker, Ollie, Charlotte turned into a total B!#%^. Will take whole flesh chunks out of you for even looking at THEIR cage (they chose to live together). Ollie is a sweetheart and is always telling Charlotte to “don’t bite” when I come near…to no avail.

BUT, when toweled as a Charlotte-ritto and away from the cage, he enjoys head scritches and lovies. Charlotte had very hard beginnings and so we give him grace. Maybe will tell Charlotte’s story tomorrow.
