Pecan tree worms?

You know the kind that spins a web
If I trim the worm nest off the tree is it safe to feed em to the chickens
 
I know if you break the webs open birds often eat the worms. Though I'm not sure if it is safe for chickens. If it is then there is a nice free treat for them.
