Peck in Peace, Red

I feel like it's always my favorite chickens that go too soon.

The nasty ones live forever. After my favorite girl died in the Spring I kept telling Psycho that she was my favorite chicken. LOL

Psycho did die this year but she was 9 years old.

Thank you, I appreciate it! I can’t imagine it will ever get easy, but I guess it’s just part of this whole thing ❤️‍🩹
It is unfortunate that it comes with the territory and at least for me, its always my favorites that leave first. :(

:hugs

I’m so terribly sorry :hugs I hope you can find a bit of comfort in the memories and pictures you have of dear beautiful Red. She seems like she was a very sweet chicken and I loved hearing of her. Feel free to share more if it makes you feel better.
Thank you so much for your kind words, it really means the world <3

I’m absolutely gutted. I always know this day would come but good god does it hurt more than I ever imagined it could. I got my 5 ladies as chicks in 2022 & they love being mine as much as I love having them. Made it 2.5 years, but had to burry my first girl over the weekend. Her name was Red, & she became my favorite over the past year. We believe she had a heart attack. She taught me SO much, and I’m honored to have had her as mine. I’ve been crying for 2 days straight… I miss her terribly & I hope she comes to me in her next life. Sorry for the sad post, just need to get it out & nobody understands how strong love for a chicken can be like y’all do. Pic of my sweet girl Red, who took a piece of my heart with her when she went. I'm so sorry, I know how difficult it can be to lose a hen held dear to you, no matter how long you've had her. :hugs
Fly high, Red!
