Pecked creat

Edit- pecked crest!

So I just picked up a polish hen (hopefully a hen) and she came from a crowded situation and most of her crest was pecked off. Will it grow back!? Can I do anything to help it along or ? I don't believe it is still being pecked at because my birds have plenty of space and things to do thanks

They will eventually grow back, especially if they have been pulled out, usually lost feathers are replaced before winter. If they are broke off they won't be replaced until a molt. A single polish chicken in a flock can become a target quite often. Sometimes keeping the crest trimmed short can help the bird avoid pecking because they can see what's coming.

Okay great thanks. I do have 2 other polish and they seem to be okay in my flock so hopefully this girl can settle in nicely and they will grow back. Thanks for the tip about trimming the crest if it becomes a problem
