Pecked hen - iodine?

I have a hen that is getting pecked :-(

A friend said to put iodine on her to keep the others from pecking her. Has anyone heard of this or tried it? Do I dab or spray it on?

If you don't have anything specifically for feather picking(Hot Pick, etc), try a layer of Vaseline followed by a layer of Vicks(they hate the taste) or get some Black Grease at the hardware store-I've used both and they both work.

I've been using Hot Pick and Blue Kote lately- neither has helped with the pecking problem I have had.

I'd try the pine tar.
