Pecked in the eye by a chicken??

My 3 year old niece got pecked in the eyelid by my Buff Orpington. That bird is the nicest bird going AND she is blind in one eye herself! Ironic, huh?

That's my biggest nightmare! I cannot imagine how painful that must be! Everytime I am face to face with them, I worry and wonder about that!

My grandson got pecked in the eye also. He cried for a moment and forgot about it.

I got pecked in the eye by my BO too but left NO damage but then I got pecked by my rooster which is THEEEE most nicest rooster ever! Hahah, my BO pecks at everything! her pecks hurt!

My 11 year old got pecked in the eye when the chicks were about 3 weeks old. Oh the drama!

This is Dixie and DH over a year ago...
Me: Honey, look this way!
DH: NO! She'll peck me in the eye!
Me: (laughter) She won't peck you. Just look at the camera!
CLICK!
No sooner had I snapped the shot, Dixie reached around and pecked at that little enticing black bug thing in the middle of DH's eye. His eye was horribly red for several days.

Not to be deterred from snuggling time, DH stuck safety goggles out in the run for bonding times...
