I have two eggs pecking at the small end of the egg. Should I help them out or just wait for a day or two and see what happens. They just started pecking last night. Thanks!

I've only ever seen two, one chicken egg in the incubator and one pea egg under a Cochin. The chicken hatched just fine, but the pea died about 12 hours after it pipped. If it happens again, I think I'll do what one of the posts in the above link suggested, drill a small hole at the other end so the air can escape and give the chick more room to move and I'll make sure that I can see the beak through the pip hole and break away the shell as needed.

FYI, this is only my second year with pea eggs and my first with an incubator, so I am a complete novice and have no real knowledge to share.

Thanks for the advice. Surpringly, I woke up this morning and I watched one of them hatch all by itself. The other one still hasn't done anything yet and that one really isn't pecking at the small end it's more in the middle of the egg.

I helped the last one out about 5 mins ago. It seems to be doing really good so far. It looks to be like its another silver pied!
