I have a serious problem that I need help with! I recently acquired 6 female chicks from a feed store, 3 barred rocks, and 3 buff orpingtons. They are about a week old, and I currently have them in a brooder. Unfortunately, one of the barred rocks has a serious issue with pecking the others' eyes, and they all have blood around their eyes (not a lot, but enough). I heard them all chirping loudly the first night, and went to investigate and thats when i discovered the problem. i have since separated her, and tried to give her more chances with the others under close supervision, but she still pecks their eyes. Should I give up on her, or wait to see if she gets better when she's older? Any thoughts?

I think that one way to deal with this is to change your light bulb to red a red light bulb because it changes everything to red so they can't tell apart real blood from the red light, I once had a Red Star chick that was pecked a lot in the eye and when she grew up she had problems with her eyesight.

Thank you, but I don't think this is the problem, as it has happened while I take them outside, in the sun.
