Okay okay I’m just noticing this now, but is a rooster not part of the pecking order at all? I’ve never noticed Kia or now that I think about it my old roo Cowboy trying to get their places in the pecking order or the hens putting them in their place(accept for my hens with Kia when he was younger, they learned their lesson with cowboy and decided to make him too terrified of them to get close to them… no silkie EEs for me
But I noticed that because I realized that I always put the new hen either between two of my friendliest chickens or one of my friendliest hens and my roo, like tonight Babs went between her bestie Elephant and my rooster Kia. Are all roosters like that? Or is it just Kia since he’s a silkie? I don’t remember much about Cowboys behavior, only that he was a jerk but pretty handsome
Cowboy is well… the black and white one, the not silkie with the hen with the torn up back, I sold them as a pair.
First picture is elephant Babs and Kia then last is Kia
