I am visiting some family members and back at home my family is watching my quails. They told me that one of the girls is keeping the male away from the other 2 females.
They are outside and she is coming by them and pecking at him. Is there something we can do?

Thank you,

i have that too. I just separated them. maybe the female that's pecking the others really likes the male. if you culled the male (i don't think i could do that.) they might get along. BUT that ight not be the problem. maybe the girl just hates the others.

Yes ... the worst thing is an Alpha hen.
They attack everything.

I had to butcher two of them last year and had a hard time to get the remaining flock calm again.

Edit: don't remove/cull the male, the one hen is the problem.
She just started yesterday, it was weird because I just left when she started doing it.
Do you think she is protecting the other female. I can try to upload a video...

So, the supposed “girl” just tried to mount the other female... now we think she’s a guy, plot twist. Apparently she’s making crowing like sounds to though.

This is her/him
