Hello All,
I'm new to raising baby chicks. I currently have 20 2-week old chicks. (10 buff orphingtons, 10 barred rocks) I noticed that one is missing some of it's tail feathers and it is bleeding. Many of the others were picking at the raw spot. I separated the injured chick from the others, but she isn't very happy about it. Can I treat the tail with a topical ointment? Is there something I can do to keep the other chicks from pecking her rear if I add her back to the group? (Sorry, no pics... I still need to invest in a decent camera) Any and all advice is appreciated!
