I’ve recently hatched a baby chicken, and have been taking care of it alone. Yesterday, another one had hatched, and we tried to put it in the box with the other chick. Unfortunately, when we put it in, the first chicken started pecking at the younger one. How to fix this?
Thanks

Even an age difference of a few days can make a difference when mixing ages of chicks
I would put some hardware cloth or chicken wire in the brooder and give them each there on section, giving both access to the heat,(wondering if you are using a heat lamp or heating pad?) But still see each other.
How many days are the in age difference?

2 days of age in difference, heating lamp

Your 2 day old is stronger and we dont want the new chick hurt. New Chicks are pretty exhausted from the work of hatching and spend their first couple days sleeping and resting quite a bit. I would put up a screen partition for a short time if older chick is to active and aggresive for the newcomer.
Are you expecting more?
