Pecking

I have read that pecking can be caused by many things - overcrowding, lack of protein in diet, or just plain boredom. Luckily I've never had much of a problem even with ringnecks other than when cooped for transportation. I often throw apples, grapes scratch in the coops when transporting just to distract them from each other.

As Steve said peepers are easily available and used by many. I just hate the things, but would use them if needed. Another option is to trim the top beak back slightly shorter than the bottom. I did this one time with a RN cock bird that was a bully. By the time it grew back he seemed to have gotten over the problem. Toenail clippers for dogs worked great for this.
