Help, I have a group on hens 21 weeks old. My 2 leghorns peck at the others and have them running and hiding to get away from them. What can I do to stop this?
Leghorns sometimes have that kind of personality. The basic causes are too little space, too little protein in the diet, and boredom (usually related to too little space and/or no foraging area.) For one bully, you can try separating for several days then reintroduce, which will rearrange the pecking order. I don't know whether it will work with two. Maybe you could remove one at a time. Increasing their forage space and having places to hide, as well as more than one feeder and waterer, may help as well.
