Ok Pecky is doing great. Pokey last night was laying with eyes half open and pretty lifeless. I got out Gator aide which is good supplement for electrolytes and tiny dropper. I forced open bill and gave him a boost. He got stronger. I have repeated every few hours. Each time he has more fight in him. This last time almost impossible to hold him to give. Thought he was strong enough to put in with Pecky. Pecky won't leave him alone. Bad he pecks him, but it gets him up and moving. Which is better should I leave them together or should I separate them. Pecky gets him moving but does he need that or more rest?

Is there any way you can have them so they can see each other but not be able to peck at each other? Like separate their box with hardware cloth or something? If it were me I'd separate them until you know for sure Pokey will be able to get away if need be. Little sick ones need to be as stress-free as possible so they can get better! :) Glad they're doing well!

I'll do that. That's what I wondered if it was good that Pecky made him move or rest would be the best medication.

Pecky and Pokey.
Pokey so glad to be back in his basket napping.
I'm sure trying to get healthy Mom.
Pecky's head is almost healed.
Pecky pick on himself in the mirror. Pecky couldn't be a better name for this one. Always pecking something.

Update on Pecky and Pokey. Pecky has healed up nicely and is still pecking everything including Pokey. Pokey is doing great, strong and totally keeping up with Pecky. Today I noticed a little tail popping out on Pokey.. How cute. Pecky doesn't have one yet, except for the fuz. So surprised Pokey has a tail as Pecky is always pecking Pokey. Pokey gets even now though. Pokey gets Pecky's toe every time Pecky pecks him, sending Pecky to the other side of the brooder, it must hurt worse than Pecky pecking Pokey's wings or beak. They are just way to cute and loving little peas with no fears. I wish for Pokey to be a male and Pecky to be a female. Seems like you are always waiting with peas. Waiting for the eggs to hatch then waiting to find out if they are male or female. Then waiting to see how pretty they are. I may not be able to hatch eggs in the future because I don't know if I can ever let them go and I sure can't keep them all.

I had a chick that liked to peck on everything, too! I named her Morse Code.

How original and cute is that. The first time I held him he just pecked and pecked at my hands and finger nails. He is the one that got in incubator fan, probably was trying to peck it. I put food down and he wasn't 24 hours old and he started pecking it. I think FBC mixed this pea with a woody woodpecker. As someone said on one of the threads I really do think these birds have their own personalities.

FBC you got a response to that????

These two chicks are from the eggs you got frm me Lil Zoo? You got 2 India Blue eggs and 2 Midnight B/S eggs, correct? Just glancing at the pics above and hoping my memory is right,,looks like Pecky is an India Blue Pied,,and the Midnight B/S at this point looks to be a male,,,but then again it's early and it's said sexing b/s peachicks isn't possible until they are months old.
