peculiar acting chicken

I just started having chickens, and one of them spends most of the day avoiding the other two, and lays under a short tree with very low branches, or under the camper. Is this normal? She gets out and pecks around the yard with the others some, but stays laying in a dark place most of the day.

Her behavior falls in the normal range. Looking for shade is to be expected when its hot. If she is the low hen on the totem pole, being by herself and not being picked on is also understandable.
