Peel and stick tiles as flooring

Here's another question. Have any of you had success using peel and stick vinyl tiles on the floor of your coop? I am having a new floor installed in my home and my installer poo-pooed the peel and stick and said the corners peel up terribly. My first choice would be to use a remnant of sheet vinyl flooring, but so far I haven't found any that aren't too big and thus too expensive for what I need. I would appreciate any input you have. Thanks!

We used the peel and stick in our coop and have had good luck with them. Not a single spot peeling, no bubbling, nothing. We installed and then shut the coop up on a warm day to make sure the glue on the back got good and warm.

I used them on my 4x6 coop, a sheet of vinyl would be best but tiles are working.

Thats what I used in the little chicken coop and it is great. I also added some spray adhesive to make it stick even better, and havent had ANY peeling problems yet.

Only thing with the peel-n-sticks is that if you ever hose it out inside, due to the cold winter/hot summer, they do tend to expand and retract a bit...leaving them a brittle on the edges. And, water could possibly seep under. BUT, I would think that would be only a very slight possibility.

Whenever I need linoleum for a new coop, I just put the word out at work, and I always have had someone with a remnant just give it to me.

They sell a seal you can put over it to help keep stuff from seeping into the cracks....

remandents of vinyl sheetings in kitchen or bathroom surplus would work. I do not like peel and stick and they do not do well with repeated wash downs.

Mine has worked out great. It's the cheap stuff too. I have had two water spills, water tipped over when I filled it up. Flooded the whole coop, I raked out shavings and mopped the floor and it's fine. I installed it to a very clean new sheet of plywood. I believe you need a good clean surface so that it adheres really well. I also used joint sealer later on to seal the out side edges and painted the out side edges up a couple of inches to give the wood extra protection. I now have an automatic waterer outside the coop on their "porch". This winter we will have to put the waterer in the coop again to keep from freezing, but I'm confident the floor will be fine.
