Peeling oranges!!!!!

Got one and hardly ever use it.

My SIL loves to eat the white skin, she would peel them off from the peels and eat them. I peel off the white stuff and go for the orange slices, hated the white residue and strings so I take a long time peeling them all.

My dad loves oranges, but hates to peel them. My mother does it for him.

One of the few ways she indulges him, though, and they've been married for 57 years, so I guess it's ok.

The one in the picture is from Pampered Chef. I just bought one and they're only $1. I have one of Tupperware's orange peelers, too, but the Pampered Chef one works best, IMHO.

I prefer oranges peeled, but the kids like them cut in segments and they eat them off the rind. Oh well, less work for me.

That's hilarious.
I forgot to try biting it. It's the long weekend. I'm never fully awake until about six in the evening

Taz: Skin gets caught in the middle of the segments!

Yeah, and rolling it (hard) like he did really helps loosen the skin from the inside.

I love enormous oranges. The ones with the really hard skin: my nail is still bleeding from when the stuff scudded under there and copped me one

That's what I use.

I also cut them up into segments. But 2 years ago I sliced my finger with the knife, almost passed out after I put iodine on it and it burned like fire. Since then I usually just use the peeler.

Wow! That's an interesting allergy. Never heard of that one before!

I have eczema on one of my hands (it's weird

) so the juice stings me quite a bit. The skin is usually so hard I poke holes in the orange segments trying to break through the skin
