Hi BYC'ers. "Chick Norris" is actually comprised of two humans, myself and my husband, so we will both be posting on here under the same username. He wanted me to make extra clear up front that posts relating to naming your chickens, cuddling your chickens and how to dress up your chickens on Halloween (kidding - maybe?) are from me, and posts regarding building of manly and sturdy chicken habitats and general chicken domination are his. So now that we've cleared that up...

We live in Phoenixville, PA (near Philly) and got our first 6 chicks a week ago. Neither of us has owned chickens before but we have a few acres and have been talking about it for a while, and BYC has been a great source of answers to our seemingly endless questions. We're looking forward to fresh eggs and amusing chicken antics! The rest of the household consists of 3 rescued pit bull mixes, who have not yet been introduced to the chicks, although they're getting increasingly curious about why we keep going into that little building right beyond the invisible fence line - and coming out smelling weird.

Anyway, here is the flock, we'll post some photos in the pictures threads:

Chick Norris (Americauna)
General Tso (Black Australorp)
Nugget (Buff Orpington)
Pinot (Cochin - we are getting increasingly worried about whether she may be a bantam because she is puny - literally half the size of the others - which is doubly worrisome because the bantams were straight run only where we got them so we're hoping even more than a bantam that she is not a he...)
Heedley (Rhode Island Red - named after the children's book Heedley Pecked Me In the Eye that all BYC'ers should run straight to Amazon.com and order!)
Kitty (Barred Plymouth Rock)

We look forward to lots of helpful tips from BYC as we raise the chicklets! Happy Easter Everyone!
