The older versions of those dogs weren't bad (well, except for the pugs and bulldogs. Poor dogs have so many problems!). I think when breeding health and general well being should come first and then breed for different traits that won't harm them.

I've read pugs often have to have C sections. If an animal can't reproduce naturally well most of the time, why should we have it?

The first is a show border collie, the others are working. If you google working border collie and show border collie you can't even find the same two pics like you sometimes can with other breeds.

They do. I think some bulldogs do too.

Yeah. They can't breathe well either, due to those pushed-in snouts. I don't think the original bulldogs were like that, though. They look totally different!
