We got a new buck. (My brother in laws dad gave him to us) I'm thinking maybe lionhead mix? You can't see it well but he's got a small mane like lion heads do, whatever he is though he's pretty.

Oooh, he's pretty!! I really like that coloring.

My dad is wanting to breed meat rabbits, maybe sell some too. How much do you know about rabbits? I'm not totally clueless, I've had at least one rabbit for the past few years. I've never bred them tho.

Yeah, he'd throw some awesome colors bred to our broken does. (Or the black doe or the white one or any of them ) Either way it means we have three totally unrelated bucks which gives us a lot of wiggle room. (And only one buck is related to any of our does)

I know a little, I've only been breeding for a year.

How soft is his fur? Definite fawn broken variety- could have some Mini Rex in him as well as the Lionhead or maybe even Jersey Wooly instead..... How much does he weigh?

SOFT! Probably the softest rabbit I've held. Hmm, maybe. He's not small, not as large as a New Zealand but definatly not small either. A rough estimate would be between 5 to 8 pounds.

He's not considerably smaller than our 4 month old Rex X Flemish buck.

I'm gonna take a guess here at a Florida White/Mini Satin cross with probably a woolen breed in there- Jersey Wooly or Lionhead....

Maybe. Only way to know for sure would be a DNA test I suppose.

Yeah. I can identify purebred rabbits very well... , but it's anybody's guess as to what a mix is...
JK I'm not nearly as good with Breed ID as some of my friends who got to the national rabbit breed ID championships...

Lol. It's just a wild goose chase with any mix.

Wow!! That's impressive!!

I think my doe who is around 3 1/2 is a Chinchilla mix.
