So I have a bantam egg that was part of a batch I had given up on 5 days before lockdown because I had gotten a much better incubator for a different batch I was incubating. I had completely stopped turning the eggs and everything to focus on the other batch that was bound to have a better hatch rate.
Little did I know, there was life in one of the eggs I had abandoned. On day 22, after a successful hatch from my other batch in the new incubator, I heard quiet peeping noises coming from my old incubator. I checked every egg and found the one that had been peeping.
I have no idea what to do because it has not popped yet. Should I help it?? Right now the egg is kind of moving so I still know its alive. Please help!

I'd candle it and see how it is looking. As long as it is peeping then it is getting enough oxygen. If the peeping stops (check frequently) or if you are worried that it might suffocate (if you aren't able to keep an eye/ear on it) you can make a safety hole. Candle to ensure that the chick is nowhere near where you want to make the hole (the middle of the fat end is usually a good spot) and use a clean, sharp screw or similar to make a small hole, as small as you can, just to let in some oxygen. It's harder than it sounds (the eggs are surprisingly tough) so just twist away until you finally break through.

This is very good to read through: https://www.backyardchickens.com/threads/goose-incubation-hatching-guide-completed.491013/
It's in the goose forum but applies to any bird eggs. It goes through everything and there is excellent information there about making safety holes and assisting where necessary.

:fl for your little bantam (bantams are my favourite).
