I can totally see the Wuthering Heights aspect. My husband was watching a movie of that the other day and I was like "uh, I don't think you will be happy with the ending of this show." Heathcliff was a monster.
she knew that he could attack her at any moment, doesn't she have any sense of danger, or is she just that stupid?
I think that's a lot of her attraction to him, which is what makes it creepy.
Being someone who actually lives in Forks, I would admit and say that Twilight has, yes, boosted the world's acceptance that our town exists (aka "put us on the map") and it gets more tourists out here, which boosts our economy, but. . . It doesn't help those who live here - It just raises prices, traffic (as if such existed beforehand) and depletes the old agricultural traditions of the land. Plus it really dumbs down the population. People don't care about forestry or careers anymore, they care about "sparkling vampires!! omg!!"

I feel really sorry for you...in NZ everyone's talking about the sparkly vamps in Forks...if she had made them here, mabe some people in other countries would know where we were but we wouldn't be so happy - - we have no large native wildlife so sucking off the native, endangered birds would make it a lot worse than it already is...
