Peeps Against Twilight club

I don't get it either. Personally, I don't find that dude attractive at all. I don't think that girl is pretty, either. In fact, I find her rather manish.

LOL manish.. I know what you mean. She doesn't seem all that feminine or when she tries to be "emotional", it doesn't look right.

**irrelevant side note*** Speaking of mannish, I find that Jillian from Bigest Loser to be on the VERY masculine side. My sister says I'm being mean, but I swear I see an adam's apple there!

FYI - 16 yr old DD thinks the guy is not very attractive and can't act to save his life. Ditto for the "twit"(her word) co-star (using the term VERY loosely). DD says the girl was in some cheesy Disney movie about kids robbing a bank to get their parents out of debt(as if) - Catch that Kid - anyone see that cinematic gem?

Now I enjoyed Zathura - but then her roll wasn't super big was it? It's been awhile since I saw it.

Also, DD has insisted on discussing these books with me - as if I care
sickbyc.gif
- and she says The Host series is better than Twilight series. But, it's geared more to adults.

DD tricked me into watching Twilight.
"It's a vampire movie, you'll love it! It's so great!"

They really lost me when they began to sparkle in the sun & not burst into flames. If I remember correctly, that would be more descriptive of a FAIRY...not a vampire.

Plus, the one person who was turned into a vampire...WAS TURNED BACK! :::Sheesh::::

By the end of the of the movie, I was very irritated at the whole plot!

It would be more desciptive of a fairy? In case you have not noticed, the rules for fantasy creatures change in books. Just because in one fantasy book something is like that does not mean it has to be like that for others. Otherwise the elves in LOTR would be very short like original Santa elves.

Ok, maybe I should have said, "IMO---Fairies should sparkle...Vampires...NEVER."

Also, IMO....elves ARE short, and should stick to baking those yummy cookies for me.

Mrs. G, as usual, you are so on point.

Might I remind some of our posters that this is the "peeps AGAINST twilight" club. We arent' looking for anyone to justify or rationalize our dislike of the movie and/or books.

I too believe the hype - elves are short(and the ones who live in trees are great bakers), faeries twinkle and vampires burst into flames in the sun - unless they are super, super old and have ingested the blood of their maker or other "ancient" vampire and then they merely toast.

Some facts are facts regardless of the story line. Yes, some vampires are "allergic" to holy water and garlic and others are not, but you don't become immortal and then "magically" change back. It wouldn't be immortality then would it? It would be temporary. And who, pray tell, would be afraid of a temporary vampire???

But then, I doubt many folks would be afraid of a glittery vampire either.

Will some one please pass the elfin' goodness? I really could use a cookie!!

I'd hate to get involved, but the purpose of the glittery-ness is to make themselves appear beautiful and attractive. The greater the chance to lure their prey.
