The problems I have with Twilight are as follows:
1. Vampires are supposed to be scary, and creatures humans should want to avoid, NOT date. The original vampire myths portrayed vampires as disgusting zombie like creatures that were anything but sexy.
2. The story in a nutshell is about a human girl who falls in love with a vampire that is obsessed with her, loves her, but deep down really would love to kill her, and he stalks her. That is NOT a good base to start a relationship on, it's dangerous, and is a good precursor to what will become a very abusive relationship in the real world, and now millions of women and girls are idolizing that kind of relationship. It is NOT healthy to seek out a man like that.
3. Vampires sparkling? Did Maybelline come up with that to push more glittery cosmetics on us? Rainbow fish meets dracula? Vampires are supposed to be killed by sunlight because they are BAD MONSTER CREATURES!!!
That's all for now. I do LOVE Harry Potter. It is a wonderful story, WELL written, and teaches a lot of important lessons like self-sacrifice, putting others first, selfless actions, and love for other people is more powerful than even magic. Love the HP series and my kids do too.
