Due tomorrow morning. Came home from work to 3 pips and some peeping.
Got the brooder set up fast, but have to leave my newly pipped eggs long enough to run to walmart for a thermometer.

I'll keep you posted and I'll post pics.

AWESOME! 4th pip
Yes, they are due tomorrow morning. So I expect this is the first wave and they will hatch late tonight or early tomorrow.
I love hearing the peeps.

I have 2 Ameraucana eggs pipped, 1 Partridge Penedesenca and 1 Black Copper Maran.
17 more in there with them. Plenty of time yet.

fun

I must say, though, that the waiting between the first pip and the first zip is the hardest part of the process. It just seems like it ought to happen SO much faster!!

Yes, but it is just good to know someone is in there!!
The peeps really get to me.
Except for the 4 Ameraucana eggs that I could see something was developing in (havne't candled since day 7) I have had no clue who was live in there. I have 12 black copper marans I could not see into at all (yes, very powerful flashlight) and 6 penedescenas, also dark.
So we will see who is who when they hatch!!
I'm excited
theres another peep!

6 pips now and lots of peeping.
One has a little more than a pip, but not really zipping yet.
Once they start really zipping I've usually had them hatch in an hour.

Can you tell the difference between Partridge Penedesenca chicks and Ameraucana chicks? They look pretty similar in the pics of chicks I have found. The BCMs will be the easy ones in this batch.

Come on babies!!!

First baby hatched!
Little Black Copper Maran
Looks very healthy, wobbly and peeping up a storm.
Now she needs a friend in there, come on guys.
