11 chickies so far, only the first 7 in the pic above.
I grabbed 7 out of the incubator and then helped a stuck one, huge chick in a big egg... too dry, so I threw in some wet towel, took out the egg shells and wrapped the big egg chick in wet papertowel
the membrane was tough. He'd cracked the egg all the way around and it wouldn't open. He was peeping away.
I peeled off a little shell and then 'pinched' with tweezers the few places that were holding the shell on too tight
then I put him back in the incubator and he was able to finish the job
he was saying, FINALLY!
3 more have hatched since
Still 10 eggs in there (today is day 21) so we will wait a few days.
Whew.
7 Black Copper Marans, 2 Penedesencas, 2 Ameraucanas, so far.
