Peeps, Pips & Zips!! Hurray

11 chickies so far, only the first 7 in the pic above.
I grabbed 7 out of the incubator and then helped a stuck one, huge chick in a big egg... too dry, so I threw in some wet towel, took out the egg shells and wrapped the big egg chick in wet papertowel
the membrane was tough. He'd cracked the egg all the way around and it wouldn't open. He was peeping away.
I peeled off a little shell and then 'pinched' with tweezers the few places that were holding the shell on too tight
then I put him back in the incubator and he was able to finish the job
he was saying, FINALLY!
3 more have hatched since
Still 10 eggs in there (today is day 21) so we will wait a few days.
Whew.
7 Black Copper Marans, 2 Penedesencas, 2 Ameraucanas, so far.

Woke up to 2 more hatched babies in with the 3 that were too wet last night to move.
12 chicks is the count so far.
Have 3 BCM eggs, 4 Penedesenca eggs and 2 Ameraucana eggs still in the incubator. Day 22.
12 chickies in the brooder (more pics later today).

2 Penes (2 out of 6)
2 Ameraucanas (2 out of 6 - 2 clear)
and 8 BCM (8 out of 12 - 1 was weeping and got tossed)

All looking healthy and huddled up together under the heat lamp.
Sure would love the Ameraucanas to hatch and maybe another Pene or two

(Plus ChanceRider is incubating 16 Pene eggs for me that would not fit in my incubator - THANK YOU!! They are not due to start hatching til tomorrow)
