Pekin about to lay?

I have a pekin duck unsure of gender and unsure of age. The pekin is young but not older then 6 months I know for sure. I was at a chicken show two weeks ago and there was a pekin duck there and she layed a egg in her cage. Afterwards the pekin got up and started shaking her tail feathers and started quacking while looking backwards or sorta pointing her beak at the ground. Now my question what are the signs a pekin is about to lay. Because my pekin is quacking and keeps looking behind her and sorta at the ground?

Some call it surfing. It's when the ducks get on top of one another, mating behavior. My runners - all girls - enjoy that. They take turns, so I don't think it's about establishing dominance, I think it's about going with their feelings.
