Pekin/Cochin Bantams

Here is the website for the Cochin club - http://cochinsinternational.cochinsrule.com/

I
would recommend joining - I plan on it. You can find members on the site with stock for sale. They also give you a brief bit about the standard - both large and bantam. Another thing to do is purchase the APA standard book.

American Poultry Association: http://www.amerpoultryassn.com/

Another
thing to do, is search the cochin thread in this section and introduce yourself - you might find someone close to you with birds breed to standard.

I am getting some chicks in March 2011 (LF) and would want to get some young Cochins then also. I don't want to hatch and I am hoping to get birds that are not too far for transport. I have emailed one in Ohio and another in the New England area and now I will just wait to see if I get a reply

The Cochin breeders directory seems to have lots of people out your way and the ones that were the closest don't seem to have the colors I am looking for.

Hi should you stop turning pekin bantams earlier then day 18? I am hatching them for the first time and am on day 6 finding it hard to get much information on them. Help is appreciated thanks :)

Here's our pekin bantam roo

So sweet natured and has a very minimal crow....more like a little squeak!
Does anyone know what colour he is?...he was meant to be from silver parents but looks very dark...someone said he could be melanistic but i'm thinking a very dark silver laced?
Thanks!
