Pekin Duck Club!

Hi

I was thinking of getting some pekin ducklings.
When i was looking for a list of what they could eat, i found
this link that was really useful.

It tells you all the things that ducks can eat,
P.S:and some treats as well

Hope this helps

Where can I buy ducks? I live in Bremen Ga.
Check with your feed stores, they have them in the spring, I don't know about now. If you get them from a feed store they will be "straight run" (they aren't sexed). If you order them online you can get the sex you want OR straight run. I have heard people talk about Metzers (sp) in California is good. Also look on BYC, there is a section "where are you where am I" and ask who in your state has some ducks. Also Craigslist has ducks sometimes. In our county in Texas there is a facebook page, they have birds for sale, might check there.

Good luck and enjoy! They grow up quickly so enjoy them while they are little. They are SO cute!!!

I have never had one of my Pekins go broody, but I don't have any drakes, so I can't help much. My guess would be just let them be and see if she lays more.

Hopefully someone with more experience will jump in here to help.

Good luck!
