Awe, thank you Julie bird! She's my sweet girl. She's a little bit of sassy mixed with tons of adorableness. She let's you know when she wants something. Henry finally found his voice! His cute peeping days are over. He used to whistle at me when he wanted my attention. Now he's got a frog stuck in his throat. It's pretty cute. The difference between male and female voices is pretty neat.

You're welcome. I think that combination of sassy and adorableness is fun. It would make me want to hug and kiss her for it. I love duck voices. The difference between a frog stuck in one's throat and a loud quack is so amazing. I love hearing the females from a distance when they do their string of ascending to descending volume of quacking.

1 Pekin(boy) & the others are Khaki Cambells
2 ( Sven & Hans) of them are boys the other 3 are girls( Ezmarelda, Dorathy, & Cinnamon)

I love the names. They are an adorable flock you've got there.

I hope I'm doing this right lol. I have 3 pekins. How do I tell if they are male or female? not a good pic this is them when I get them up in the morning lol

My Pekin turned to be a Muscovy ( i guess ) .. how do we differentiate when they are very little .. the guy i bought the duckling from confirmed its a pekin .. am sure its not .. i never raised Muscovy before and pekins what made me love ducks at the 1st place... what do i do

My 6 year old came home from his last day of school vomiting today. Of course, I'm running through the possibilities in my head as to causes. We have had the 9 week old Pekins and the Almost 3 week old goslings in the house. I can't help but think that maybe... But, I am wonderful about cleaning their pens and making sure my son and I are frequently hand washing and actually he is very good about it. Honestly I really don't know if he's sick because of the birds or its just a bug going on. He's already feeling better so I suppose I shouldn't worry about it!

it is a nightmare every time they get sick ... my boy was hospitalized last week and the 1st thing i asked the doctor to do is a viral swab and culture and stool analysis ..result was negative and the doctor confirmed that the ducky is not the monster .. today my youngest got sick but i am calm this time =)

I know it can be scary. But seriously, if you just be careful about handwashing everything should be fine. My kids have all been around them most of their lives.

Oh thank you! He is quite the little handfull (teach me to have my last baby at 40! Lol). His eyes and nose look red because he had just had a (non duck related! ) sneezing fit.

I agree. I hope your little ones feel better soon. It's never fun when they are sick no matter what the cause is. I'm especially glad it wasn't the duckling that caused it. That eases my mind too!

They're considered mildly poisonous, but because they taste so bad, the birds won't eat them so it's not an issue
