Pekin Duck Club!

I think the boots are great, I'm just not convinced that she really needed them.  LOL
ditto, but i wanted to try. Miss Lydia is the only one who made a suggestion for my wittle Ali. thanks @Miss Lydia
what else can i do to help her? should i have her out of her brooder more and have her walk around on my carpet or hardwood floor (she may slip on the hardwood floor). did you see my video? it looks like she is walking on her heels. She needs braces to straighten her legs, maybe?

Yea I see that but there is so much clotted blood... I originally noticed it when he was hatching... I actually thought it was him but it definetly wasnt
As long as the blood clots are inside the shell, I think will be OK, normally a blood clot will kill them but he's almost out of his shell so I think he's past that point.

Thank you guys for all your help so far!!! Here is lucky duck and his shell

I don't think I would worry about the pigeon toed. I have notice some of my calls will do this at a young age but once they get older it seems to correct itself.. Once they learn to go swimming, they seem to learn how to straighten them up and with the movement of there legs in the water, it seems to be like theropy and toughen up the muscles. I would just make sure she's getting at least 100 to 150 of Naicin..

is that 100mg to 150mg of Niacin per day? i have it and can give her that much, if that is what you are saying to give her? thanks.
I am going to take the shoes off, put her in warm water and then let her walk and take a video. i hope the lighting is good, if not i will video her in the morning. thanks Lori

YES, get some Niacin in her. I would not put her in water yet. Unless she's at least a week old.. I know the shoes were on for 3 days so not sure if she's at the week old mark yet..

research has shown HUGE improvements in the legs with the correct amount of naicin in them..

Hey all! I have two baby ducks (about 10 days old), who seemed to be fine since I got them when they were three days old. I've given them daily baths and helped them dry off, they eat, sleep, poop. They seem fine! Today I came home and found one of the ducklings has a patch of feathers missing. I instantly thought the other had been picking off his feathers. I checked both of them for lice or mites because they seem to be itching a lot. But I also know they're new feathers may be coming in. Just need some insight this is my first time raising ducklings.
