Pekin Duck Club!

So excited to get back home today to see my not so little babies nasties again! They're hitting 6 weeks this weekend and grow like WEEDS! But sooo funny and cute to watch!

Meanwhile they know if I come whistling a certain tune that I have goodies and come RUNNING towards me picking at my legs and feet if I don't give some to them quick enough. Lol.

Gotta try those Popsicles and will head to the store to get all kinds of veggies for them and get some minnows too to chase once I cleaned their nasty pool. Will see if they'll like squash cuz they're not too crazy bout bananas (meaning more for ME!).

Here is a pic of them coming at me. Enjoy til I get some more this weekend!

I think some one should capture the aroma of a well soiled kiddy duck pool for bottling and selling as a human or house fragrance....been thinking about that every time I clean my ducks' out..... mmmm mmmm, good smelling stuff right there...

O goodness talk about stink!!! We've had nothing but 90 degree weather but rain and thunderstorms .. It'll rain then heat up quick - so humidity is thick thick thick then rain then w all the poo from 14 chickens 3 pekins and 2 geese the pool and their lil mud hole is a HORRID swamp area I haven't been able to even attempt to clean! Omg so gross...

I would try to clean it as best you can, then apply nustock to it daily for about a week and see it it improves... (or you could try tea tree oil - although it's controversial as far as being toxic to birds - my opinion is that as long is it's not consumed by the bird, it should be fine to use topically) It looks like maybe something got infected.

We have the 90-100 degrees but no moisture yet. When I had it stink that bad before due to the moisture, etc., I sprayed my coop down with some homemade LAB (lactic acid bacteria) and it helped a lot!
