Pekin Duck Club!

Dutch doors are two separate doors one above the other. I can reach in from the top one for most chores, but I can open both for ease of human entry, or to do a major clean out.

A slider is a sliding panel door also called a pop door. Mine slides side to side. Many slide up and down. Raccoons cannot easily reach through a well made sliding door.

I

I bought a rabbit hutch & pen on sale @ TSC & altered it: added hardware cloth, locks & plywood so the raccoons & other predators can't get my duckies!! I'll post a pic when I'm done. It's a good temporary that w/ help I can move. I want 2 build them something larger later, but right now I'm currently renting. Mine are 6 wks old, a little more than 1/2 feathered & still live in the 45 gallon lg tub w/ chicken wire over the top in my room :). I'm gonna miss their voices & ducky language when they go to their outside pen this weekend.

Hayneedle & efowl have coops too. The hardest think for me was everything is for chickens & rabbits which are NOT ducks, do anything I was to buy wld need altering. I only have 3 ducks & I have a blk rectangle container like Amigas for them to "swim" in. I used a larger hardware cloth nailed to the bottom to prevent diggers & I think it's too small now. I think I should have used chicken wire. I didn't @ 1st bc I didn't think it was sturdy enough. That was my only regret :(. I used smaller hardware cloth to seal up any openings. I'm gonna use dog food/water bowls for inside the house bc the 1s from TSC are for beaks, not bills. Someone had the great idea of putting it on top of a old roasting pan so they don't keep getting their bedding wet.

quakingtons, each of those are really good looking and have one major drawback.  Ducks and ramps don't go well together, not nearly as well as chickens and ramps.

If the mobile tractor on the left were lower, or the setup on the right were not a two-story, it would work better.

What worked for me was looking at designs for dog houses, then putting a door - a slider and a Dutch door - on the house.
Great idea Amiga!! Very nice set up! I wanna be like u when I grow up :)!!!!

Cassie, could you give me a link? I admit, I have taken on some extra responsibilities lately and between that and probably age-related issues,

I feel I may be missing things.

I am blessed - we all are blessed - with so many helpful knowledgeable people here, so I do not fret. There are more and more helping, too.
