Pekin Duck Club!

@JLynnsDuckies
- that is too cute!
@caesargirl
-congrats!  Love that goose was being protective.

I posted an issue on the duck thread & I'm freaking out.  would you be willing to read it, pretty please?
I followed the link and read your post about Diva. Poor little girl! I would have been freaking out too. I'm glad you got help from the wonderful people on here! Let us know how she does.

This time of year, former Easter ducklings often get dumped - so vet offices, public ponds, and rescue organizations may already have adult ducks in need of a home.
Another option is to try craigslist if it's available in your area. I found my goslings on there but they may have adult ducks as well. I hope you can find your pekin a friend soon. :(

Triumph! With her adopted babies. (And my best pic evah!)

From what I've gathered in the pilgrim thread and reading, they will try to mate anything with wings! So, unfortunately yes.

Oh no. Not good. Your Pekin girl will not wanna be around them at all then. I wouldn't if I were a duck. But since Pekins are big ducks, how does their size compare to a pilgrim goose?

Weeeellllll..... I don't have geese... They're Canadian geese. Again, dumped. One has angel wing and two are pinioned. The last is Angel and Doris baby from last year! When I called our warden, they talked with me about the laws regarding them. I'm in the process of getting (trying) a permit for them. Our local rehabbers are full, so, I'm getting a non releasable wildlife domestication permit. (Free vet care because I'm being monitored right now!!!) but, long story short, they were raised with people, because they're friendly! So everyone ducksits! Hers another horrible picture to squint at!!!!!
You are funny. Squinting at the picture.

So sweet you are caring for the Canadian geese. I hope the legal process goes well.
