bad news all martha aka slow died today

So sorry the hear. What happened? I lost one of our chicks a few months ago due to illness, we ended up culling. Was very hard, but we know he's in a better place and no longer in pain.

On a much lighter note.. my 2 pekins - the oldest of a mixed flock of 8, seem to have taken the role of Mama & Papa duck. Makes sense as they're the oldest and largest I guess.
Frank and Bean are quite protective over the others and its hard to get pics of just them. Unless it's morning bath and mudd time. F&B (not agressivly) hog the pool for the first 15 or so minutes.

Any suggestions on how to help the other 6 get more pool time?

Here's some pictures. Enjoy!

A rare one of the whole gang swimming together. Ik it's small, we've since upgraded. Thinking maybe we still need to go larger?

Beautiful flock! Pools, I'd do 3. My reasoning is that no matter how much f&b might want to hoard pools, they can only hoard 2 at one time at most!!!! Foiled!

While this is true, sometimes Frank will get out of one pool and chase the others out before returning to bean. We have 2 pools, an in ground smaller tubberware thing (shown) and a pond (not shown) that needs a little TLC, but they still get in it.

Maybe it's just the behavior they display when we're around?

jackie was very cold when i got her out but i put her under a heat lamp and brought her inside and shes fine now a little water logged but fine. but poor martha she will be missed terribly i gave her a burial this morning and shes happy where she is now..... im gonna miss that funny chicken....

Same thing here, but only 1 is "left out". Once we get the coop finished & run set up we are going to build a pond big enough for everyone :)

well im not quite sure how it happened i was in the front yard for 3 mins and came back to find one floating dead and one on the brink of drowning but i did save one and shes doing so much better.happy and playfull. what i was gonna do was add an addition to the coup to alow a pool in it but not after today.
