Pekin Duck Club!

Same breed doesn't matter at all if you're not breeding for purebred ducks. You might have a problem regardless what age ducks you get because JoJo is a lone drake, and drakes can be extremely territorial. JoJo sounds very tame and agreeable, so he might warm up to females if you introduce them slowly and monitor their interactions. Ducklings would just be a little more iffy than juveniles or full grown ducks simply because ducklings are more easily injured by a grown drake. You're very close to me and could have some of mine if it weren't for the extreme size difference.

Do you know anyone or anywhere nearby that has ducks for sale? I can't find nothing on craigslist, tsc don't have any till April, and I really don't want to get newborns!

I've been putting a lot of thought into getting a few females for JoJo, but how would he act towards ducklings? I cant find any ducks his age so I was considering metgzer farms? Is that a bad idea or can someone help me? They don't have to be Pekins just in the same weight class. Actually, I would love a different breed but it really wouldn't matter. As long as my little boy is happy!!!
have you asked here is anyone might have some ducks? https://www.backyardchickens.com/t/248345/pennsylvania-unite/54600#post_15787087

Not suppose to do buying and selling on these threads but if you asked if anyone has any female ducks name breed your interested in then you can go to PM for details.

I've contacted about everyone on that list. The one in belle Vernon has a bunch of males and no females in the right age range. The vast majority are males which I was told not to get another male bc they will fight, and then there's the ones that have 2-3 that they want to stay together bc they're bonded so I don't want JoJo to be the odd man out. Plus I only have room to get 2 females for him, and that's the max, I didn't even want to do this till we move but I truly think JoJo needs it. I never knew this would be so difficult. There are so many factors involved but thank u very much!

This is what I meant in another post about sellers not saying what they really mean. Perhaps you can post something for ducks needing rehoming? That is risky. Some ducks people advertise for free rehoming have been abused and need a lot of taming, but sometimes people have to move or just can't keep the ducks. You'll know that when you go to see them.

Me too! I have to stop myself from reaching out for a snuggle when they do something cute! But they have their own ways off being affectionate, they'll come so close and listen to my voice and they're soooo excited to see me! :)
No kidding. It's hard not to touch them. That's sweet that they come close and listen to your voice.
