Pekin Duck Club!

Do you have Facebook? There are a lot of Michigan farm animal groups, maybe there will be some for your area

Good idea! I'm so anti-Facebook that I always forget about it.

Hmm. I posted on different pet sites but not farm. The I'll give it a try. Heyon PA Unite! I see them talking about the "chicken train", does anyone know what that is? Or if it'd be useful for me in my search for ducks?

not sure. We have chicken stock here in Michigan. Type in your state then farm animals and something should pop up. Also Google to see if there are any livestock auctions near you. The right one will come along! If I had more than 3 hens I would give you one.

Need some help. My Peking has just started mating with my black duck (unknown type) I was wondering if they can produce babies? And if they can how long after mating do they ususlly lay eggs? They were hatched during Easter so have never laid eggs before

I got a couple hits on Facebook but not the right one yet but i am happy bc its coming slowly. But on craigslist someone just posted today selling Muscovy ducklings, I'm waiting to hear back, she is going to see if her son will good give up a Muscovy hen which would be perfect even though my husband thinks they are ugly but I like the females and like that they are broody. Will that work with a pekin, does anyone know?

So my pekin girl is trying to get my muscovy drakes attention. He did mount her in the water, not sure if it worked.
BUT I also have a golden hybrid 300 girl who tries to pin her head down when the drake is trying his thing.
Well I just saw the golden hybrid girl mount the pekin girl in the water. She is brown like on metzers web site and doesn't have a curled tail feather.
Do female ducks mount other females??
These two are 4 months old about

Do you mean work as far as size? It should. They're both in the same weight class. Just don't forget that their offspring won't produce other offspring. Don't forget Muscovys can fly and @Miss Lydia has had to hose hers off the roof, and don't forget to segregate whatever you get for a couple of weeks if you get if from Facebook/CraigsList.

Yes females mount females and act out the breeding ritual.

I dont know for sure, but I dont see why not. I have 1 Peking, 1 Rouen & 2 Khaki Campbell drakes and they dont seem to care who they mount.

duckies you can not put ducklings in with JoJo you'll have to brood this duckling and introduce once she gets around 4 months old Drakes can injure and even kill ducklings. It's just the way they are. Not all but you don't want to take the chance.
