They hated the rain today. You know how ducks are. They like to stay dry. :-D
They are fine. They get their spinach and nealworm soup and wag their tail feathers. Jazlyn is loving how friendly they are.

Eeeeeee. Wag their tail feathers. Cute things. So cool that they are such friendly birbies.

it always makes me laugh when I look out the window at my ducks in the rain they all stand stalk still and look like lawn ornaments. Who would have thunk ducks don't like to get rained on, especially if it's hard rain.

First, I have no idea why my camera wanted to make the pictures so bright. I checked the settings. Oh well!
I went down to the pens, and began quacking at the chickens (I'm kidding!). They mooed back (note on that in a few) and I gave them fresh water and spinach. I walk in to see that Lily made another nest last night. This one really deep. Her last nest was ruined when I was fluffing and changing bedding yesterday. There was no egg. I didn't get an egg yesterday, so I was expecting one today. Despite her previous egg laying habits, I expect them to change due to the natural light now being her only light. So I looked at her nest box. Tada! I've had that box in there for the past week, but Jaz wouldn't let me keep an egg in there to show Lily that was her new nesting box. I knew Lily would figure it out if she wanted a box. I notice that it is soft then I feel something hard. Ohhhh! There's yesterday's egg! Duckie said that she does that! Funny that it was this egg that Lily decided should go in the box. Silly duck.
Okay, "the note" on mooing ducks. I have a comic strip of Hagar the Horrible hanging on my wall. He was trying to get the duck (which is often in the strip) to stop saying, "Kvack!" So he finally told the duck it wasn't getting fed until it stopped "kvack"ing. He then turned and walked away. The duck came out with a loud, "Mooooo!"

yea i dont know why she lays weird for a day or so. i told u it happens every month or so. i tried to kee their lighting as close to natural sunlight as possible except once it started geting dark at five, i left the basement lights on a while longer. i never wanted to mess up things with artificial light. im glad you and jaz are loving them as much as i do!!!!
