Pekin Duck Club!

I got grit for them, so i'll definitely be adding some to their diet, I'm also going to head to a store and get some extra Niacin for them. I haven't seen Tua panting since this morning so I think he's starting to feel better.

Tua is in the front and Koa is in the back, this was taken this morning when he was panting and I noticed his legs were farther apart from Koa.

This was when we first got them, Tua is on the left and Koa is on the right. They grow up so fast

I'll see if the dark spot is still there when I put them in the bath later. I did notice when they breath thru their nostrils I can sometimes hear it, almost like a stuffy nose. But its definitely a sigh of relief to see them both knocked out right now sleeping.
OMYGOODNESS THESE TWO ARE SO CUTE.

They sure are adorable I can't figure out what they are on in the top pic but You have to keep them off of slick flooring for one thing. It is really not good for their legs.

Do they have a something to drink out of deep enough to be able to wash their nostrils out anytime they want especially when eating? That is very important the can get feed up into their nares and cause breathing trouble.
They were in the tub when I took that picture, it was just water

. They had a big enough bowl, but I got a bigger one today since they keep growing so fast. Their poop is still watery and they are drinking a ton of water, and when Tua starts panting he won't get up to get water, he just lays there panting until I bring the bowl of water in front of his face to drink. Here are some pictures of his legs, the pills I got to make sure they are ok, and just some random photos I took.

This is Tua's body, are his legs too far apart?

These are the only pills we could find that were natural, will these be ok? It's 100mg per 1 gallon correct?

Tua posing and Koa passed out in the back

Once again Tua posing and Koa is K.O'd lol

Tua decided to climb on my boyfriend and sleep

I made a point of getting a picture to ease your mind. That was the only reason I was out in that stuff! Well, not wanting the dog to pee in the house had something to do with it too.
Seriously, I know you need to see pictures, and you were worried about the weather. Did you know that ducks handle winter better than chickens?
Everyone is shut inside today. At least right now. I didn't have to look at the temperature to know it was not worth letting them out at seven. The chickens will brave the new scary stuff soon. Maybe today. But er are getting another (I think it was) five inches today, and another half inch to inch twice a day for the next week. Then another five or six next week. Everyone needs to get used to it. And the sooner, the better! If they are out enough, I won't have to shovel the runs! Ditto for the dog. I feel bad for small male dogs in the snow. :gig
If nothing else, I have flock blocks I will add to keep them bu sy.If you don't know what that is, it's a big block of goodies (dried corn, lettuce, sunflower seeds, millet... Lots of stuff) held together with molasses or honey. In this weather I can make (those these were bought) one with animal fat, The cold will keep the fat from melting.

Thx for the pics, it does ease my mind, I worry about everything. I know they handle winter better. Its gotten better, I used to get on here multiple times daily just to make sure u didn't say they died or anything. Now I can go days without getting on here...lol...I honestly think I would of had a nervous break down if they went anywhere else. I'm glad they are with you!!!! I know u and duckling love them just as me and Ryleigh do! Its comforting!

I I have a question, I have a 3 yr old pekin male I just got and he has a patch of brown feathers on both his sides (not mud) does anybody know why, or what breed he is. His head looks a lot different from the other pekins I have and he's not as round

I have done a little research and it looks like he's probably a Thai Pekin Mix he's very beautiful but I don't have a good picture of him only a video. I would still like to hear what u guys think though, I'm no expert ;)

They are so precious love the Tua posing .

The niacin looks fine it's 125mgs per gallon mixed well if not it will all be on the bottom.

I have seen some of my ducklings sit like Tua so I don't think that is anything to worry about, He doesn't have problems walking? They look very healthy and loved.

Be sure to put the grit separate from their feed so they won't eat too much grit is something they will use when they need it so just offer in a bowl separate from feed.

Ditto what Miss Lydia said.

A couple more of Biddy today, she was being unusually social. Despite her lack of personality, or pleasant personality she is a pretty girl.

Tua does have a bit trouble walking around compared to Koa but once Tua is in the bath, he can swim all day long.

here's a photo I just took of them in the tub
