Absolutely to both of you. Welcome to wonderful BYCCan I be added as well please! Thank you!
Try putting their waterer on a cookie sheet with a wire top on it. The waterer sits on the wire and as the babies splash water it goes down through the wire into the cookie sheet. I use this and it works fairly well. I don't think ANYTHING will stop the water, after all they ARE "waterfowl". Ha Ha! Good luck!I have a question: how do we limit the water the baby ducks splash on the floor. I had a baby chick just hrs old die. Because I sat her with the ducks a minute. She got knocked into the water. Before I could switch everyone around in time. My partner worried about the walls and mold and the wires to dry underneath it wet. And the bookshelfs they where under. More should hopefully be born these week. And more chickens. I don't want another death.
I don't think you CAN be clean with ducks! I am raising my first set of ducklings, I have 2 older females already (see my avatar). They are terrible! I change their water/food/bedding twice a day. I am exhausted! Good luck!I know. But it makes my partner crazy. The neat freak. No water on the walls floor tile countertops. Ect. I have one of the perfectionist in my home. The ducks chicken ect or considered normal in my view. His it's not. Just trying to live in neutral ground.
Okay so I'm incubating some pekin eggs for the first time and one began internally peeping this morning but still hasn't cracked through its shell. Should I be worried?
