Pekin Duck/Drake?

My Pekin is 14 wks old, and I thought he had a drake tail, but we had a nasty dog break into our yard and my duck lost quite a bit of feathers and no longer has one- if he did before. I think he has more of a waah sound then a quack, but he’s very noisy.. so now I’m not sure if it’s a female duck or a drake?

It does this weird quack dance/head nod thing with me too, and then will lay really flat on the ground and let me pet it for awhile, then gets up and walks away. Daily!

I say male. His quack is raspy. We have two ducklings around 6 weeks and I can easily tell the male v female from their quacks.

Your hen is likely at breeding age and is trying to invite you (or whomever she is dipping her head to) to mate with her.

I was sort of worried that’s what was going on.... I think I fixed the video so it works now too. Guess I’m glad I’ll be getting eggs!
