It's my first time hatching duck eggs. I have zero experience with ducks, I'm doing it as a favor for a friend.

So it's day 29, with 3 fertile eggs.

#1 pipped yesterday around 26 hours ago, with no progress thus far, I can still see the duck moving/breathing through the hole.

#2 pipped about an hour ago, wrong end of the egg but she's moving and breathing.

#3 nothing.

All were good when I candled a couple of days ago.

Question #1: should I make a safety hole for egg #3, and when (if not now).
Question #2: if egg #1 doesn't progress, when should I intervene.
Question #3: will egg #2 need assistance, or can she hatch in this position.

I've hatched and assisted chickens and quail, I just have have no duck exp.

#1 hatched on his own.
#2 is still hanging in there.
#3 has been given a safety hole.
He had a string attached to his body and was dragging his egg around, so I broke it off halfway closer to the egg. This was what was in the egg.
I've never seen anything like this, is it normal?

ICYWW:

#2 and #3 were (semi-)assisted, #2 just finally made it out.

I should mention also that these were small duck eggs, possibly the first 6 laid, I attribute this to the reason these 2 needed help.

Out of 6 duck eggs, 3 were infertile and tossed after week 1. So that makes my duck hatch rate 100% so far.

So homely that they're cute!
