Pekin Duck Lifespan?

Late to posting here ^_^ I have had my Pekins for a year, and just got some more females for my male.
Make Pekins can live about 7 - 9 years, while females can average about 6 - 8.
Some females can go egg-bound, which results in death, if you follow Dusty and Otter duck, they are prone to egg-bound, and they have to take hormone injections, because their bodies don't adapt to the egg.

I heard it's rather common with female Pekin, since they are raised for meat, and not for pets. So I count myself pretty lucky, because my girl drops her "Butt-Nuggets" like nothing at all, and she lays very well.

I have a jumbo pekin, and I've heard the same thing: as short as 5 years, and as long as 10 or more. It also can depend on how they're cared for

The jumbo pekins however, usually have a shorter lifespan than a normal pekin duck...I'm hoping my guy will be around for a long time :(

This is him: His name is Richard :)

Oh okay thanks! I think they're jumbos. I'm hoping to get as much time as I can - I love my boys! It's hard to remember they're still babies. They're only 8 months old but huuuggee
I know this post is 10 years old now but curious as I am in the same boat. My jumbo pekin is now 4 and definitely has his health issues due to his but still very happy. How long did yours end up living to?
