Hi my pekin lenny is a 3 month old female. she had leg problems before after a trip. treated with aspirin and she felt better. lately she’s been limping and only one leg is turned in. i tried giving aspirin again but nothing. limp is better, walking a lot, and eating a lot. any thoughts?
*** she takes a vitamin b complex and has niacin in feed
***she’s also a lil chubby

She's a beautiful duck 😍 What is causing her to be chubby? With heavyweight breeds, like Pekins, we need to be careful with their weight because their legs are prone to have issues. Are you giving a lot of treats?

Pekins usually need more niacin than what's in duck feed. I like to use nutritional yeast sprinkled over their feed. The aspirin is an anti-inflammatory. If you're giving this to her without making sure she can't over do it because she feels better, she's apt to injure herself further. How do the bottoms of her feet look?

the bottoms of her feet are perfect. i do out niacin in her water. not too much treats. but my male duck has been a little rough, i think he wants to mate
He may have injured her. Is he a Pekin? They are heavy. I would confine her within the same area but keep her from waddling around injuring herself further and keep him from trying to mount her. I've found that Pekins can be injured getting in and out of their pool, so that's another area to think about. Whenever you confine her, be sure she has supervised pool time so she doesn't end up with wet feather. How many hens and drakes do you have?

he’s a skinny fawn and white runner. i only have the two of them. i’m building a pool thats fenced in and attached to the coop soon with a ramp.

Oohhh! I LOVE Runners so much 💜 Even though he is small, I'd still confine her to keep her from injuring herself further and to give everything time to heal. You can give aspirin but if she's out running around, she's apt to injure herself further or to make her recovery take longer because the aspirin will mask some or all of her pain. Does she have any swelling or heat coming from her legs or feet?

no swelling and the temperature is normal same as his. do you think she’d get better? i’ve bern worried sick haha

I do, but let me just clarify with you because I think I'm confused. My apologies. Is she limping now? Is the concern her foot that's turned in? How long has it been like this? If she's not injured now, she doesn't need to be confined

she’s been limping for a couple weeks and the foot is visibly turned in which i why i’ve been a little worried.
