These pictures were taken to ensure there was no cancer or boney involvement in regards to my duck's bumblefoot.

First vet visit about 150.
Add an xray for another 100-150.
Vet tech appts only (ie.dressing change 7.50)

Unfortunately, when these xrays were taken it was New Years Day. Had to go to an Emergency clinic and we decided to do surgery as well. 700 -gulp.

i went through the same thing with my duck ming mei... 45 for the visit, 200 for the x-ray, 50 for the meds, 250+45 to come back for the surgery, and another 45 for the follow up visit. +635$ for one bumbly-foot!!!

i probably spent another 50-75 dollars on bandages/corn cushions/bandaids/gauze/ vet wrap/ neosporin/etc. That's why i came up with duck shoes!

Thanks for sharing the xray pictuers. Its interesting to see what it does look like.

I have taken a number of my ducks to a vet . I know things are different out here in Australia...... But I just wanted to mention that I take mine to a Vet clinic that is is community funded through donations. It is a teaching clinic also, and has a lost dogs home attached to it. The fees I have paid there are always very reasonable. I had a pekin drake who had an overnight stay for surgery on a facial abccess and the bill was only $236 ( Australia dollars )

I enquired about cost ECT.. for surgery for a different duck at another clinic and was told it would be in excess of $2000. I know some people are remotely located and dont always have access to a range of vets, But it certainly is worth a few phone calls first to find out which vet in your area may have lower fees.
