I need some help in regards to my very hormonal pet duck. I have a 7 month old Pekin male duck. He has been with us since he was 7 days old. He has been brought up around dogs and humans. 2 months ago I was informed ducks can get lonely so I adopted an 11 week old kahki campbell female, he has recently killed her from over mating. They spent most days in a pen 6m x 3m, and they roamed free in my large backyard after 5pm every day and weeekends. My question is, he is so hormonal atm, is there any thing I can do to stop that, he will obviously just continue killing if I get him any more female ducks, he is miserable in my backyard? Is he lonely? Or is this typical behaviour in a male duck? What can I do fix it so he can be happy and happily sontinue to socialise with us and our dogs?
Please help.

Can you get him 3-4 grown pekin or rouen ducks? That would help and they would be big like him so wouldnt beable to hurt them as bad.

Thanks. But I am thinking about leaving him on his own for now. Until we have our own place and can spread them out and have enough room for 3 more. I just hope he doesn't get too lonely.

I just don't have the room for so many ducks until we move into a bigger place out of town next year. I am trying to keep him as happy as I can until then. He seems to be happy enough hanging out with the dogs.
