I'm a first time duck owner, I picked up a couple of Pekin ducklings at the feed store today and am wondering how old they are. (I probably should have asked there, but didn't think of it)
I assume they're a couple weeks or so - it's the feed store I regularly buy feed at for our chickens and I know they were there when I was there a week ago. I hadn't been in for a few weeks prior to that though, so am unsure how long they might have been there already at that point.
Another reason I'm thinking they're a wee-bit older is because they had them marked down to half their price to move them out the door and the staff was actively announcing that they were discounted another 50 cents on top of that to get them moving. They had a whole water trough full of them and they were most certainly getting cramped.
They're bigger than what I can hold in my two hands by about twice over - it takes both of my hands (medium women's hands) to hold around their bodies and hold their feet up with just my bottom two fingers and they're starting to get tail feathers.
Any ideas?
