Could the other duckling have killed it? Do you have any cats?

I do have cats, but they couldn't have gotten to them. The ducklings were separated. The wire kind of divided the box when it fell and one was on one side with the other separated from him.

I don't but it's a cardboard box inside of a large dog kennel. The black wire kennels. There's no way a cat could get to them.

I have no clue then. I don't think the chick killed them. Are there rats around you at all? I'm kind of stumped here

No rats either. The kennel is set atop a washing machine in the house.

It did.

The large opening in the abdomen could have been caused by the sharp wire? That’s the only thing I can think of off the top of my head. Not sure about the other, maybe it was crushed? At any rate, I’m sorry for your loss

Sounds to me like the one duckling got caught on the sharp wire and eviscerated itself, not sure about the death of the other. Sounds like maybe it got hit by the falling divider. Hard to speculate without seeing the setup.
