Pekin ducks hatching eggs

So I just checked in my ducks and she has kicked out more eggs. I don't know if it's her or the drske . She sits on them all day and night and only gets up to eat drink and play in the pool. I did check the broken egg and there was a baby in it. So now I'm just freaked out worried. We only have about 4 more days give it take

It may be her When she is moving the eggs and pushes them out by mistake... You can try to put her in a small box or something that keeps the eggs really close to her and she may pull them back under her just make A cut out so she can come And go out of the box. Or maybe a pet carrier. And if the box is small enough may keep the drake from trying to sleep with the momma. I have that problem when my Bantams lay a lot of eggs their bodies are too small to cover them all sometimes. I'm not too sure why she wwould just now throw them out... Of there are only a few days... Of you find the eggs and they are not cold to the touch out them back under her. They should be fine if she warm. It would be like she got off to get food and water.

I have had "wild" ducks and the daddy was so amazing with the 10 ducklings. They were Florida Ducks. They are kinda like malards just way smaller. But the whole family stayed together until the babies were old enough to fly off on their own and most of them stayed on the lake they were raised on. And the momma and daddy stayed a pair. It all depends on the animal and the personality .. Each one is different just like us humans. People told me not to let my babies mingle with the flock(chickens) but they all Take good care of the babies... Even all my male's. It all has to do with what they are used to. Of I was you I would let them be and just keep an eye like you said. He might be an amazing dad or he might be a little off with them... But time will tell. I think if you seperate them with them being a pair and only 2 of them you may stress them both out. Best of luck.
well just e few more days and hopefully the eggs will hatch! She has been good so far with sitting them and the daddy seems to be just waiting as well! I don't plan on separating them unless I really need to! Crossing fingers for a good hatch and outcome!

I'm so sorry! I was hopeing she would hatch them!! Thats hard I know. But just gotta keep moving forward. She may do better her next go around. She is still learning. Some don't do well on their first hatches. I wish there was something I could day to make you feel better but there isn't.

Well I think next time I'm going to incubate them and see how that works. She is still young boy even a year yet so she may do better next time who knows. Hopefully they will survive the winter i have to make them a house to keep warm in this winter. They have been just outside under my deck all summer. I actually did not think they would survive or something was going to eat thsm. Or that they would make there way down to the pond and not come back. But they actually stay pretty close to home. They go to pond every now and then which is odd but I think it's because a turtle but the drake and we had to doctor him up with some peroxide so I think they are scared of it now. They sure are funny little ducks
